Key

A: Straight Up (1 Number)

A bet on a single number including zero is called a straight-up bet, or 'number' bet. The bet is made by placing your chips in the middle of the area containing the number. If another player has already bet on the number, place your chips on top of theirs; because everyone has uniquely coloured chips, the dealer will be able to distinguish your individual bets. This single number bets pays 35 to 1.

B: Split Bet (2 Numbers)

A split bet is a bet on two adjacent numbers on the roulette table, placed on the common border shared by the two numbers, for example, 11 and 12 or 11 and 14. The bet can also be made between 0 and 1, 0 and 2, or 0 and 3. The bet wins if either number comes up, paying 17 to 1.

C: Street Bet (3 Numbers)

A street bet covers three numbers in a row - that is, the entire row of the table, such as 19, 20, 21. To make this bet, place one chip on the outside edge of the row you want to bet on. The bet can also be placed on 0, 1, and 2, or 0, 2 and 3.

The street bet pays 11 to 1, and gives the same effective odds as playing three single numbers.

D: Corner Bet (4 Numbers)

A corner, or square, bet is a bet on four numbers sharing a common corner, such as 25, 26, 28 and 29. The bet is made by placed your chips on the point where the four numbers touch, and can also be made on the corner of 0, 1, 2, and 3.

The bet pays 8 to 1 if any of the four numbers comes up, and gives the same effective odds as playing four single numbers.

E: Line Bet (6 Numbers)

A bet on the six numbers is called a line bet. This is a bet on two adjacent rows, such as the 4, 5, 6 row and 7, 8, 9 row. It is made by placing your chips at the end of two rows at the intersection between them.

This bets pays 5 to 1 if any of the six numbers come up, which again is the same effective odds as playing single numbers.
