Blind

Poker Term.

Required bets placed in the pot by the first two players in front of the dealer before the cards are dealt. The blinds are mandatory bets (called small blind and the big blind) and rotate around the table.

Unlike an ante, all players will place a Blind - it's a way of getting the betting started in every hand.
