Splitting Pairs

Also known as Split.

Blackjack term.

A player's option in blackjack to take a pair of cards of equal value and use each card as the start of a new hand. The player's bet is doubled, and they play each card as a separate hand.

In the UK, players cannot split pairs of 4, 5 or 10.
